Natalie Aller

Quality Intern

Summer Intern Project

"I focused on analyzing and improving the accuracy of machine runtime estimates at Olympic Steel’s Bettendorf, IA division. I compared actual machine runtimes versus quoted runtimes to identify discrepancies. Using a Visual Basic program, I developed an automated data analysis that enhanced runtime accuracy. Through my research, I found inefficiencies in our processes. Additional research and testing should be done to determine optimal runtimes for existing equipment and existing jobs.”
