Intern Project
“For this summer project, I worked with my Accounting Manager Abby Box at Olympic Steel's Bettendorf Iowa Division. We had been getting charged tax on items that we shouldn't get taxed on. I went through invoices from the last 3 years till now and submitted a refund to the State of Iowa to get our overpaid tax money back. To prevent this from happening again, I had to inform companies on their mistakes and give them a simple document on what is taxable vs. exempt so they could correct their errors.”

Why did you choose to intern for Olympic Steel?

What do you hope to accomplish during your time here at Olympic Steel?

• “I hope to get a great understanding of how to analyze data and make decisions based on those numbers from an accounting perspective.”
  
  

What do you like to do in your free time?

• “In my free time I enjoy working out, traveling and playing sports.”

• “My proudest moment so far is getting my first Internship (At Olympic Steel).”
