Intern Project
“My project was to optimize the Daily Report, which is a collection of Excel files that summarize the company’s financial and inventory positions on divisional and consolidated levels. Olympic’s executives use this report to monitor the company’s alignment with our strategic goals and anticipate the company’s changing needs. To implement this process change, I worked with program analysts in the IT Department to create reports that better serve our needs such as high-level summary information and automated data entry. I also created templates in Excel with formulas that automatically update the Daily Report with data from the newly created reports. This process improvement saves the preparer a lot of time and manual keystrokes and minimizes inaccuracies due to human error.”

Why did you choose to intern for Olympic Steel?

What do you like to do in your free time?

• “I like to spend time outdoors, especially hiking or riding my bike. I love reading and traveling. My newest love is cooking.”

• “My proudest moment so far is being hired as Baldwin Wallace’s peer tutor for all undergraduate accounting courses.”
