Intern Project
“My Project was to create SEMS training videos for the sales department at the Cleveland Division. I created the training videos by shadowing and taking notes with our current inside sales team as well as some other departments. I wanted to find out what's important to ISR’s and their daily routines as it pertains to using the system. I wrote out scripts to ensure that all pertinent details were included when explaining processes. I used Zoom and screen recorded myself using SEMS. Then I created voice recordings and edited the Zoom videos using I-Movie. In the end I created 550+ recordings and edits, and 13 completed training videos. Topics covered include, Master order releases, Sales order entry, Inventory stock search, Running open order reports, Value add part entry. We want to in the future, Improve and update training processes in the future. Adapt to the industry changing and continuing to properly train the Cleveland division. New videos to expand how to use SEMS in Cleveland. Create reading materials to aid in further learning.”

Why did you choose to intern for Olympic Steel?

• “I wanted to learn more about local businesses in Cleveland and I enjoyed learning about the core values of Olympic Steel on the website.”
  
  

What do you hope to accomplish during your time here at Olympic Steel?

• “I hope to learn more about how to work in a business environment and to gain lifelong skills and connections.”

What do you like to do in your free time?

• “I like to spend time with my friends, read and play tennis.”

What is your proudest moment so far?

• “My proudest moment was being voted as captain of my varsity tennis team two years in a row. I loved leading the younger girls to grow as people and become the best versions of themselves.”

What is your favorite quote?

• “Men are what they are because of what they do. Not what they say.” - a man called Oveg.”
