The North Carolina Division has an outstanding opportunity for a career-oriented individual interested in a Financial Analyst position. This position will report directly to the Divisional Controller.
Essential Functions of Position
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for reviewing, compiling, analyzing and interpreting financial data and reporting those results to management and propose improvements as appropriate. Other responsibilities for this position include:
- Gather financial data related to production, expenses and other assigned areas of the operations.
- Analyze and improve data integrity.
- Establish accurate equipment and/or labor burden rates based on specific equipment used, manufacturing activities employed, inefficiencies, scrap, and other cost factors.
- Provide and maintain timely and accurate cost inputs for sales estimating activities, and establish a timely means of comparing and reporting actual cost to estimated cost for all quotations/orders.
- Establish and provide detailed site-specific cost accounting reports to management.
- Work with management to interpret results and suggest improvements to procedures and business systems to assist management in operating with greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and deploy financial models and analytical tools to assist in identifying trends for making management strategic decisions.
- Do other sundry projects as directed by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 3-5 years experience in financial accounting or analysis preferred
- Knowledge of distribution or manufacturing
- Strong PC skills, especially in Excel and other Microsoft software
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Must be detail-oriented, have strong communication skills, high organizational skills and able to multi-task
- Ability to work independently and the ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels in the company, including experience working with senior management
